Ditto Named a Product Leader in KuppingerCole Leadership Compass for Identity Verification
KuppingerCole highlights Ditto’s binding of verified identity to high-assurance authentication, and its no-code orchestration layer
BARCELONA, Spain — 22 September 2026 — Ditto has been named a Product Leader in the KuppingerCole Leadership Compass for Identity Verification, published in September 2026. The report evaluates identity verification vendors serving the North American and European markets, and recognises Ditto Verify as a full-service verification offering — highlighting in particular the binding of verified identity to high-assurance authentication, which allows organisations to carry proven trust forward across the customer relationship rather than re-establishing it at every interaction.
A broader field, one shared model
KuppingerCole has broadened the scope in this year’s assessment. Broadening the definition of identity verification beyond vendors pairing document checks with biometric matching, the 2026 evaluation also brings in supervised video verification and verification drawn from authoritative data sources, measuring all of them against one common set of criteria.
KuppingerCole reviewed functional areas including document verification, biometric verification, additional verification methods, automation and AI, privacy, and orchestration. The report covers 26 vendors in the space.
What Ditto was recognised for
Ditto Verify was recognised as a full-service offering incorporating document verification, face biometrics and liveness detection, attribute verification, KYC and AML screening, and no-code orchestration, alongside the optional binding of a completed verification to high-assurance authentication.
Product strengths highlighted in the report include:
- Flexible deployment, allowing organisations to adopt Ditto Verify in the model their regulatory and architectural constraints require
- Optional binding to MFA and passkeys, supporting continuity from onboarding through to account recovery without re-establishing trust
- Reason codes and a dedicated deepfake and AI-fraud confidence score, enabling fraud teams to tune thresholds to their own risk appetite
- No-code orchestration with risk-aware routing and configurable fallback paths
“Ditto is recognized for a full-service offering that combines document verification, face biometrics and liveness, attribute verification, and no-code workflow orchestration, and stands out for deployment flexibility, spanning on-premises to managed cloud, and for binding verification to high-assurance authentication.”

A market widening beyond financial services
KuppingerCole analysts predict that the identity verification market will be worth $22.22 billion USD by 2026, with it forecast to grow to $50.07 billion by 2030. Financial services remains a core segment, where institutions are legally obligated to know their customer robustly in order to combat fraud and financial crime. But as eIDAS 2.0 moves the EU Digital Identity Wallet toward live deployment, and everyday transactions continue to digitalise, identity verification is becoming increasingly more prevalent across healthcare, education, travel and entertainment.
The report also highlighted that many organisations now engage multiple identity verification vendors — for population coverage, for redundancy and for service resilience — an indication of how central identity verification has become to core business processes. As verification spreads across more sectors and deeper into the customer journey, the question of what happens to a verification after it succeeds becomes harder to avoid.
“Every institution we work with has the same problem, whether or not they describe it that way. They spend real money establishing who a customer is, then discard that certainty the moment onboarding completes.
A verification is not a certificate you issue once and file away. Trust has to travel with the customer — into account recovery, into a high-value transaction, into the exact moments when customers are most likely to give up and fraud is most likely to succeed. That is what we mean by continuous identity; it is the harder thing to build and it is what KuppingerCole has recognised.”
— Gonzalo Alonso, Chief Executive Officer, Ditto
“The market is moving toward continuous identity and away from point-in-time checks, because a check that happens once at onboarding does not carry trust forward to the moment it is actually needed. This becomes even more important in a decentralised model: as identity moves to trust assurance, a verifiable credential must remain as trustworthy tomorrow as it was when first issued.
Our value sits right there: binding verified identities — within a safe, protected environment — to high-assurance authentication, and wrapping no-code orchestration and shared signal intelligence around it, so risk teams can prove trust across the customer lifecycle without waiting on engineering cycles.”
— Matthew Hornsey, Chief Product Officer, Ditto
